My brothers and I have been talking about the desire to be the next Spurgeon, Whitefield etc. As I was pondering this, the thought came to me that we had better
desire to be used of God like these men were not to be successful and famous like these men were.

I immediately thought of Romans 9

God will be glorified in every man. Either he will glorify himself in men who are like Pharaoh who refuse to humble themselves and therefore God is glorified in destroying them.

Or he will glorify Himself in using ignorant and unlearned men to magnify His great worth in all the world. He used Moses of whom the Scripture says,
Num 12:3 Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.

and in another place:

Zep 2:3 Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the Lord's anger.

ignorant and unlearned men leading the church? Heaven forbid, get thee to seminary! how can one hope to shepherd the sheep without an M. Div.?
