A worthy ministry in need of prayer and support

Dear praying friends,

We very much would like to thank each and every one of you for your prayers and loving support. It is greatly appreciated! We know that we are highly privileged in having so many saints of God praying for us and for the work here in central India.

Because of your intercessions and fervency, the Lord continues to watch over us. He grants us His precious presence and enables us to proclaim the blessed Lord Jesus in several towns and villages in this area. We are also thankful for His power and the efficacy of His grace that goes along with the Word in finding lost sinners, regenerating them, bringing them to Christ to look to and to believe in Him alone for their salvation.

We also rejoice and thank Him for the many men and women who have experienced His salvation and are learning to be babe-like in trusting and following Him. It is so encouraging to know that "…the LORD is in His holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before Him" (Habakkuk 2:20).

Please remember these following requests in your prayers:
1. A few days ago, Bro. PN called and said that his parents and many relatives are putting much pressure on him to denounce his faith in Jesus Christ. We met this dear man several months ago during some Gospel meetings in his village where Bro. Raju and I were holding weekly studies. The Lord was gracious to cause him to give heed to the Word that was preached. Eventually, the door was opened for him to stay and study with us. By His grace and mercy we have been witnessing the work of grace in his life. While he was staying with us, his parents called him back to his village under the false pretence that there was a family emergency. At this time we don’t know what the outcome will be, but our hope is in Him Who begins a good work in the lives of His people and is able to keep them from stumbling. We would appreciate your prayers for him.

2. Sister RS is a young lady who met us when she heard about us preaching Christ in a nearby suburb of Nagpur. She also is going through quite a trying time. The Lord graciously opened her heart and she began to follow Him faithfully, which caused quite a stir among her family members. They were so upset with her that they kicked her out of their home. She then came to stay and study with us and began complaining that she wasn’t feeling well. After taking her to the doctor, we found out that she is suffering with hepatitis B. Just like Brother PN, her parents and relatives also want her to denounce her Christian beliefs and rejoin their Hindu faith. For now, by the grace of God, we’re doing what we can to help and comfort her during her trials.

There are several others like this dear brother and sister who likewise are going through trying times for their newfound faith in the beloved Lord Jesus. In the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh, in the district court of Betul there are about seven cases against Christian believers where they are being falsely charged of various crimes, especially the crime of attempting to convert Hindus to the Christian religion.

We ourselves are facing a few battles and difficult situations from the enemy of the soul. These threats are especially from the so-called “brethren,” who are attempting to stop the advancement of the Gospel involving our ministry and stay here as U.S. citizens ministering in India. As the Lord allows, we will keep you updated.

We truly covet your prayers for the above prayer requests, especially that these Indian believers along with us will "…earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 1:3).

We also would appreciate your prayers for Anita, who is due to give birth sometime in these upcoming weeks. Her pregnancy has gone smoothly thus far, by God’s grace. Samuel, Elizabeth, Grace, Joshua, and Christpriya are all doing well and are excited for the arrival of their new baby brother or sister.

We close with this testimony that our God is faithful, wise, and good. He has not dealt with us according to our iniquities and has blessed us far beyond what we deserve. Glory and honor be to His holy name!

Your servants for Christ Jesus,
Prem & Anita Waghmare
