Top Ten False Prophets of All Time

We had the top 10 preachers of all time, now its time for the top 10 whack jobs to look out for, the wolves beneath our wings. If you don't know who most of these people are, the majority can be found on the TBN television program or linked to it.

Number 10...In 1986, Jimmy Swaggart

He exposed fellow Assemblies of God minister Marvin Gorman, who was accused of having an affair with another pastor's wife, who was at the time undergoing counseling with Pastor Gorman. Some said this was done out of fear that Gorman was taking away from Swaggart's audience and donations. Gorman was based in New Orleans and was adding stations throughout the southern region and was beginning to add stations on the west coast and the northeast. Gorman was also in the planning stages for a weekday telecast. Once exposed, Gorman was defrocked from the Assemblies of God and his ministry all but ended.

The following year, Swaggart exposed fellow Assemblies Of God televangelist Jim Bakker's sexual indiscretions and appeared on the Larry King Show, stating that Bakker was a "cancer in the body of Christ." He and similarly-minded Baptist evangelist Jerry Falwell investigated Jim Bakker and eventually discovered his indiscretions. In 1987, Jim Bakker's ministry was falling apart as a result.

As a retaliatory move, Marvin Gorman hired a private detective to follow Swaggart. The detective found Swaggart in a Louisiana motel on Airline Highway with a prostitute, Debra Murphree, and took pictures of the tryst.[4] Gorman presented Swaggart with the photos in a blackmail attempt to force Swaggart to come clean, but Swaggart refused. Gorman then presented the pictures to the presbytery leadership of the Assemblies of God, which decided that Swaggart should be suspended from broadcasting his television program for three months.

A worldwide multi-million-dollar ministry, Jimmy Swaggart Ministries today mainly comprises The Jimmy Swaggart Telecast,[18] radio and television programs called A Study in the Word, (SonLife Radio Network),[19], and a website, JSM.org. Jimmy's wife, Frances (very much behind the scenes); and son, Donnie, control the ministry's preaching and leadership. Jimmy's grandson, Gabriel, is a preacher, and leads the Family Worship Center youth ministry, "Crossfire". Sonlife radio is heard in 22 states[

Balam's Boys
(I didn't have time to come up with 10. Here are my top 7.)

7. Earnest Angely - one of my fond memories of childhood was mocking the Rev. Angely on Sunday mornings as he brought healing by slapping some woman on the forehead. "Say Baby"

6. Richard Roberts - president of Orel Roberts university

• The university jet was used to take one daughter and several friends on a senior trip to Orlando, Fla., and the Bahamas. The $29,411 trip was billed to the ministry as an "evangelistic function of the president."

• Mrs. Roberts spent more than $39,000 at one Chico's clothing store alone in less than a year, and had other accounts in Texas and California. She also repeatedly said, "As long as I wear it once on TV, we can charge it off." The document cites inconsistencies in clothing purchases and actual usage on TV.

• Mrs. Roberts was given a white Lexus SUV and a red Mercedes convertible by ministry donors.

• University and ministry employees are regularly summoned to the Roberts' home to do the daughters' homework.

• The university and ministry maintain a stable of horses for exclusive use by the Roberts' children.

• The Roberts' home has been remodeled 11 times in the past 14 years.

That kind of list would give pause to even the most Mammon-worshipping disciples of the name-it-and-claim-it "prosperity gospel."

[Mrs. Roberts] is accused of ... sending scores of text messages on university-issued cell phones to people described in the lawsuit as "underage males." ...

A longtime maintenance employee was fired so that an underage male friend of Mrs. Roberts could have his position.

Mrs. Roberts -- who is a member of the board of regents and is referred to as ORU's "first lady" on the university's Web site -- frequently had cell-phone bills of more than $800 per month, with hundreds of text messages sent between 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. to "underage males who had been provided phones at university expense."

5. Robert Schuler
“Classic theology has erred in its insistence that theology be ‘God-centered,’ not ‘man-centered.’”

Nuff said.

4. Joel Ostten - winner of the most improved and up and coming award

I knew something was foul when I talked to a whack job psychiatrist from Ashland (Sodom) on an airplane and she raved about how her message and his were so strikingly similar. Thankfully, when I explained the gospel to her she didn't see the similarity in our message.

Thankfully his wife was recently acquitted for shoving a stewardess in a confrontation on their private jet.
3. Pat Robertson
I know my great grandmother would be appalled but his deception of her bumped him up the list. He took over the 500 club from #2 Jim Bakker. Just observe his prayer for healing and and you have flashbacks of Chevy Chase in one of his movies mocking the faith healer.

2. Jim Bakker

Where is the retirement community Jim?

Credited for conjuring up the 500 Club. We need 500 people to give a $1000. Sound familiar.

Not to mention Tammy Faye.

1. Benny Hin
Also known as "Billions Benny"

His multi billion (yes B billion) dollar ministry largely because of his accent which makes him sound Jewish and lures the charismatic chaotics to anything associated with the Holy land.

He may replace Ben Franklin as the meaning of "Bennies"

After further review I have a new number one sliding each of the others down a notch.

#1 Billy Graham
Again Grandma Ruey and millions of elderly are going to be horrified at his inclusion. Which is the reason for his inclusion. Millions of elderly have been supporting him monthly for decades showing the size of his deception.

Reasons
I can't get the imgage of him bowing to the Pope, kissing his ring, and receiving the yoke of Rome out of my head.

His greatest contribution to apostasy is the widespread acceptance of the "invitation system." He helped introduce the plague which is infecting most churches in our country. He is on record admitting that at his "crusades" there were thousands of volunteer workers ready to come forward at the invitation to "prime the pump" and encourage others to go forward. Millions are inoculated to the gospel as a result of his ministry because they prayed that prayer with Billy.

Okay I might as well finish out the top 10.

#9 Joyce Meyer - Balam will be glad to know he has a daughter as well.

That is MRS Joyce Meyer at least that is the name of her second husband.

How anyone could be taken in by someone so obnoxious especially a man is revolting.

#10 Kenneth Hagin - yet another pioneer in the prosperity gospel. Not enough scandal in his life to go with his apostasy to be higher on the list.

You need a whole seperate category for everyone on TBN, except the guy who plays the camel in the passion play, he is a real prophet.

I agree. How about the TBN Charismaniacs?

How about a TBN mascott?
