You MUST be born again

The Pope is in America. Flaming liberal and ridiculer of religion Bill Maher has been inflaming catholics with his comments about the Pope and the Catholic religion. Maher said:

"If you have a few hundred followers, and you let some of them molest children, they call you a cult leader. If you have a billion, they call you 'Pope.' "

A catholic spokesman responds to Maher by saying,
"Yes, there are church leaders that acted in immoral and sometimes evil ways," Owen said. "The solution is not to follow Mr. Maher and say all religion is bunk. The solution is to remain faithful to Jesus Christ and remain in the church and work for the restoration of the church."

Being faithful to Jesus Christ and restoring the church can only come through one means. The new birth.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Billion dollar church buildings, lavish musical programs, brilliant choirs, fashionable manners, graceful actions and speech can easily be a form of godliness that denies the very power thereof.

A system thats aim is formalism, religiosity and making people feel good about themselves is a destructive force that blasphemes God. The new birth, makes people feel good about God and produces true righteousness.
